Dream Chasers Never Sleep

It's been over a year now since I first heard 'Ima Boss' by Meek Mill Ft Rick Ross and I have to admit, I've probably played it more times that I have slept since then. It's a Serious track. It was the birth of Meek, simple as that. It's one of those songs you can play when you're driving, when you're walking, when you're partying and it just gets any person who has real music in their life on their feet!

Generally speaking Meek has had many more bangers since then, some hits but nothing like that. No disrespect because alot of artist who put their life in the game still haven't came close to a song like that. Although he has been quiet I knew it wouldn't be the last of him. Since his mix tape 'Dream Chasers Never Sleep 2' he has put himself on a different level. You can download it here...

For me their are 3 songs in particular that shine.
1 - Ready Or Not
2 - Lean With It
3 - Big Dreams
I don't wanna ruin the surprise for you, so go download and listen for yourself. Two of those tracks are eye openers, the other is a banger!

Self Made

For our 3000 views I've decided to do something a little different. I want to talk a little about me and share something I have learnt over my few years in this place. Something which is what motivates me every day and every night of my life...
I've learnt that Being a leader is not about being the best, it's about bringing the best out of the people around you. Being a champion is not about winning, it's about making the people around you believe that they can win too. I've learn't that although every thought is as precious as the next, they are nothing without action. They say it's the thought that counts, but to me it's the reaction that really counts. I've learnt that even though leading and setting an example is great, it shouldn't be anybody's priority or duty. Our responsibility and reason in life is to achieve. To achieve you must bring out the best in yourself, your must lead yourself to success, you must believe that you too can win, that you can achieve all the things your heroes have. And by doing these things, that is when you set an example, that is when you lead others towards their owns dreams as you reach yours. I believe that people make their own luck, which is exactly what I've done. Every thing I do, I do for my self. I do it to get one step closer to where I want to be. For that reason I can say I Am Self Made.

Nothing is impossible, just like nothing is forever except for regret..

Kanye Says Mercy

It's was just earlier this week, that I was talking to another DJ about how Hip Hop is dead. In my last article I told you how I thought slowly it is coming back, because we're lost in a whir pool R&B and Soul. Forgetting that really, R&B came from Hip Hop and Rap! Without Easy E, Snoop Dog, Big L, Notorious, we would have know Drake, J Cole, Tyga, Trey Songz.
As i suspected Hip Hop is bouncing back and with a bang! Kanye's Newest song 'Mercy' is just full of old school! Slow beats, long base and slick lyrics! If you've missed it then take a listen now...

Tell me that Big Sean doesn't tear apart that first verse?! Admittedly this song is know 'N****s In Paris' and you probably couldn't drop it in a club, but that's not what Hip Hop is for! Hip Hop is real music, music you can drive to, smoke to, write to, dream too, what ever you do. It's more than a track, it's a motive!

Tyga's Carless World

Sorry for the length between articles recently, but as I've said before, I will only write about things which I feel passionate about, not just to fill my blog. Quality over quantity.
I've waited a long long time for the release of Tyga's 'Careless World'. I was straight in town the day it was released in the UK February 12th, the sun was shinning so what better to do than to go to the drive and just listen to real story in the album. I'm not gna lie, at first I was quite gutted at the album, it didn't hit me how i thought it was going too and I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting. Especially after the release of Rack City and Faded which you can hear in the links below...
&
Now these songs are bringing Hip Hop back, next to the likes of 'The Motto'. Becuase let's face it, over the last 10 years Hip Hop has died off and made room for R&B which I'm not complaining about as it was the birth of some of todays greatest like Drake, Trey Songz and Tyga but Finally Hip Hop is coming back. The kind of music is fell in love with back when The Game and 50 Cent where peek!
There's two songs on Careless World that after a few weeks though have really grew on me, as well as the entire album. That is Far Away and Black Crowns. Now Black Crowns to me sounds alot like Drake & Wiz Khalifa have been merged together with a touch of Tyga, and wow! Deep, flowetic and descriptive lyrics. The stuff legends are made off. Take a listen now...

KONY 2012 'Stop At Nothing'

We've all seen charity videos, and every time we see one we all think "that's terrible, I am going to do something about it" and then it quickly leaves our mind and we forget about it. This however is different. For those who don't know what 'KONY 2012' is then watch this video now and join the family of support growing all over the globe...
http://www.youtube.com/user/invisiblechildreninc
For the first time in my life, I feel like I am part of something big, my small contribution is part of making a big difference. In today's world, we all have the ability to be more powerful than ever through one way... by working together. Since watching this video I have emailed all the big schools in and around my city demanding they show this video to every single class just once, to make them aware and also give them the chance to donate. And that is all it is, make people aware and it'll be enough because no human can watch this video and not want to help, it is human nature.
To me music is important, that is why I made this site, that is why I write about music every single week, but today I write about KONY 2012 because that is what is really important!

Limp Bizkit Keeps Rollin'

It's been a real quiet week or so within music, nothing has really caught my eye and I don't ever want to right about rubbish just for the content. I write about movements that excite me and make me want to share it not just to fill my blog.
So here it is, finally some news that hasn't really surprised me, but I am curious and massively looking forward to what collaborations come out of lil Wayne's latest signed for Cash Money Records, the very finest and renovator or rock Limp Bizkit! This guy shown me the way to rock music, one of my favourite tracks of all time actually is Rollin...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYnFIRc0k6E&ob=av2e
Some would argue that he is a thing of the past, my answer to that is that Limp Bizkit's music is timeless! You can still play almost any track from the 2000 album 'Chocolate Starfish and The Hot Dog Flavoured Water' e.g. My Way, Hot Dog, My Generation and the list goes on! Come to think of it, that mean I was just 8 years old when I was listening to this album, and if any of you really know what this album lyrical content is like... Well it couldn't of been healthy for an 8 year old!
I just want to finish this on a thought, if Cash Money have signed such an artist, to me this really signals the end of Kevin Rudolf. What's your thoughts?

Chip City

About 24 hours ago I could of got away with saying "Not much has been happening this week in terms of music" then the forever remembered Whitney Houston passed. RIP to her but to me this week peaked with Chipmunks latest track! Rack City comes across the pond and Chips City was born...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZCmEPj4-8Y&feature=player_embedded#!
Straight up Chip goes in. I've been a fan of his for a while but he's been a  little quiet recently, but this one has made the wait worth while. Evidently his wasn't doing his thing at his last label and so it busted out and created his very own aka CMAR. He's got a lot of extremely successful commercial tracks and that is undeniable, but for me he really comes out in his freestyles...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJTLtOwsmjE
Just a quick one over an epic instrumental, first done my Solo 45 but Chipmunk does deliver!
Another one of his bench marks was his freestyle over 'Moment For Life'...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnEDPxd29e0
But above all of this was his freestyle on SBTV, some one tell me different?! "I ain't saying that you couldn't walk a mile in them, but I know you can't afford my shoes"
