The King TK Goes Hard

Sometimes when days get long, when dreams seem lost, when thoughts are irrelevant. Something comes along which just flips it all, for me it is music. Which is why I am writing this article. It is why I created this blog. It is why I stay up till early hours every night writing my own music with a pen and a pad. It is why I am up before sun rise every morning and put in the work to give back to music what it has given to me.
After a long day I couldn't wait to get into bed and just go sleep but then I found this...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLV4iFu5d6c&feature=player_embedded#!
The first verse hit me hard. Just like when i heard Mic Righteous for the first time. Just like when I listened to Paris Morton Music by Drake for the first time. Just like when i listened to Mr.Carter by lil Wayne for the first time. This moment was another one of those 'Shit, that was his break'.
As you all know, real music is what I cherish, and what you hear in the first 3 minutes is just that. As I say, Real Recognise Real.  So recognise and please listen to it and take in the lyrics. Empathise. Discover another perspective. Be inspired.

Proud to right about this one.

Skepta Doesn't Do It Again

Firstly I want to point out that I am a Big fan of Skepta, I've got a vast collection of his music and know every lyrics to every one, and that's the truth. Personally I love him for his Grimier music, undeniably he is one of the key players in what made the Grime Scene what it is today. Possibly my favourite track of his, which also includes one of my favourite verses of time has to be B.O.S.S which if you haven't heard then take a couple minutes to listen now...

Jheeze! He goes in!!! Try and tell me different!?
But to what I'm saying, Skeppy released a new track called 'Punch His Face' which to me is dead. I mean Skepta has a sick flow, but in this he just sounds like some other weak MC. For me the track never really drops properly, the over use of Auto Tune just kills the vibe and the base isn't even strong enough to make it fall into the category of a house or garage track, it's just nothing. Take a listen..

Admittedly the guy is in a position now to do pritty much what ever he likes in terms of music and I wouldn't doubt for a second that he is going to release something soon which will pull me right back!

YOLO Is The Motto

Drake & lil Wayne at it again! With a touch of Tyga too!
After the highly anticipated wait, their newest collab track since C4 & Take Care has been released called 'The Motto' if you haven't heard it yet, dont miss out...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fAEN6vYEZ0
A real example of Tunechi's success sits right in this song, his verse shows exactly how he can spit anything, in any structure in any style and still make it work!
Look at it, the speed is inconsistent just like in the line structure and there's a massive lack of rhymes as well... but still it flows! Drake goes in as always, the songs hits it peak with his line "25 sitting on 25 mil" Jheeze!
Take a look guys!

Boyce Avenue Do Nothing But Beautiful Music

I've been talking a lot about Hip Hop and Grime on here, but I do love all music and particularly acoustic music. For me you dont get any better than Boyce Avenue in this field and I truly believe that. Boyce Avenue are a band made up of 3 brothers, they stared of by just posting videos on YouTube  and now 5 years later they are touring all over the world! In terms of music this guys classically takes songs that we all know and love and turn them from a commercial hit into a piece of beautiful music. For example, follow the link below to hear their cover of 'Teenage Dream' By Katy Perry and only then will you now what I mean...

I thought this would be the perfect time to share such an artist with you guys so you can enjoy Boyce Avenue all over christmas with your family and friends.

T.K The Problem!

For those who don't know who T.K is, do me a favour and follow this link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMo4MfmjXSQ
Now what you sayin?! You'll know I am big on real music, and that their is peak! This guy to me sounds a little like another big artist called Mic Righteous but TK spits with a calmer attitude, which for me makes the lyrics hit even harder, the words paint a bigger picture here. But don't get it twisted TK still can go hard! There's some seriously Grimey tracks on his Mixtape 'The Problem' which you can download for yourself at
http://www.tkofficial.com
For me the leading track on the Mixtape is 'Snaking You' a track all about something which any Real man or woman goes through know doubt. Hit deep for me, the slow and angelic instrumental plays a complete contrast on TK raw accent and lyrics! Listen to it now and spread the word...

Tinies Not So Happy Birthday

Tinie recently released his newest mix tape called 'Happy Birthday' which if you haven't heard, you can download here
http://www.djbooth.net/index/mixtapes/entry/tinie-tempah-happy-birthday
As I've talked about in a previous article, Tinie is known for his epic house anthems with relatively simple but slick flowing lyrics on top of them, making the kind of tracks that have made him who he is today. However we cant forget where he came from, his grime roots. Back then he was known as a hard MC and since breaking through as an artist it's evident that he now wants to delve back into that once rife area of music for him. And so Happy Birthday was released. Now don't get me wrong, there are some sick tracks on there for example one being 'Like it or Love it' with features from the likes of Wretch 32 and America Superstar J Cole. But for the most of it, the songs just dont click for me. I think the problem is that because we exposed to so many sick lyricist now in grime like Skepta, Dizze, G Frsh, D Double E, P Money and many many more these people are Grime Artist and thats how they spit. Tinie to me is no longer a Grime artist, he's a house artist and there's nothing wrong with that, just that is what he has evolved into. He's ended up in a different place than where he started, and it's worked for him. So in my eyes, I'd tell him to keep doing his thing which is releasing club bangers!

Charlie Sloth Hits Big Time

After many years on London's pirate radios like Raw & Flex FM. He got on to the BBC 1Xtra as the main DJ which is particularly known for its 'Fire In The Booth' factor. FITB has heard some of the sickest freestyles known to the history of Grime, but in particular there was one that really left a mark which was a freestyle from Mic Righteous which if you haven't heard, take a listen now...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEo7xY8TPaQ
After recently landing yet another spot on BBC Radio I thought it was only right to feature him on here. To me Charlie Sloth is a visionary and a pioneer in any UK's Rappers career. Once he has recognised your talent and effort, you'll be on his show where you'll be showcased to the entire TeamUK audience which providing you don't flop, is a corner stone in your life. The guys knows his stuff, as his site shows...

In the words of the DJ him self; "if you want a job done properly, then you got to do it yourself."
